Returns & Refunds Policy

Each देशSutram product is handmade and one of a kind. Please read our policy carefully before placing your order.

At देशSutram, every product is handcrafted by women artisans using traditional handloom techniques. Due to the handmade nature, limited availability and delicate fabrics, we follow a careful and restrictive returns and cancellation policy.

Cancellations

  • Orders can be cancelled only before they are shipped, provided no customisation (such as fall, pico, tassels, or stitching) has been requested.
  • Upon cancellation, you will receive:
    • A refund to your original payment method.
  • Once an order has been shipped, it cannot be cancelled.

Returns

We accept returns only in the following cases:

  • Manufacturing defect
  • Incorrect product delivered

Important Notes

  • Minor variations in colour may occur due to lighting, photography, and fabric nature. These are not considered defects.
  • Products with customisations (fall, pico, tassels, stitching) are not eligible for return.
  • Stitched garments and fabrics are not eligible for return.

Return Process

  • You must raise a return or exchange request within 48 hours of delivery by contacting us on WhatsApp using the support button available on our website or by messaging us directly.

Please keep your Order Number ready while raising the request.

  • Requests made after 48 hours will not be accepted.
  • If the package appears tampered, damaged, or unsealed, do not accept it. 

Approval & Shipping

  • Once your request is received, we will review it and respond within 5 working days.
  • If approved:
    • The product must be shipped back within 5 days
    • It must be in unused condition, with tags and original packaging intact

Refunds

  • Refunds will be processed within 7 working days after receiving and inspecting the product.
  • Approved refunds will be processed either as store credit or to the original payment method, depending on the nature of the return and the payment method used.
  • Refund timelines may vary depending on your bank.

Exchanges

  • Exchanges are allowed only if:
    • No customisation has been done
    • Product is unused and in original condition
  • Stitched garments and fabrics cannot be exchanged.
  • Customers are responsible for:
    • Return shipping
    • Re-shipping
  • For international orders:
    • Customs duties and shipping charges (both ways) will be borne by the customer.
  • Exchange requests must also be raised within 48 hours of delivery through WhatsApp.
